Alfonso Marzal welcomes you to Skåne

Three years after the coronavirus pandemic impacted greatly our daily life and changed the way we interact with each other, it is exciting to come back to face-to-face conferences. The European Ornithologists’ Union is very happy to announce that the venue of the 14th EOU Congress will be in Lund, Sweden, on 21-25 August 2023.

Lund University, established in 1666, is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Northern Europe. Lund is located in Skåne county, southern Sweden. It is close to many top birding locations such as Falsterbo, one of the greatest destinations for bird migration in Europe.

The EOU Congresses provide an excellent environment for the advancement of ornithology and the promotion of the scientific study of birds, promoting communication between ornithologists. For almost 25 years, EOU has hosted a biennial meeting for its members and the international ornithological community at large, bringing together a growing number of international attendees from all regions of Europe and beyond.

The Local Organising Committee, headed by Anders Brodin, is generously devoted their time to provide all the arrangements and logistics needed for a memorable conference.

I will take the opportunity to encourage you to participate in this exciting event and to warmly welcome you to the Lund congress in 2023.
